    PADI Open Water Diver
This is the entry level course. It can lead to two different levels of certification:-
PADI Scuba Diver
The Scuba Diver certification level is a pre-entry level certificate. To achieve it you will only need to complete part of the PADI Open Water course.It will allow you to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI professional diver (Dive Master or higher). It will also allow you plan under supervision, conduct and log dives, buy air fills and scuba equipment, and continue training to complete your PADI Open Water certification.
PADI Open Water Diver
The Open Water certification level is a full entry lever certificate. It will allow you to dive independently within your training limits, plan conduct and log dives while diving with a buddy, buy air fills and scuba equipment, and continue training to complete your PADI Advanced Open Water certification, and PADI specialty courses.
Course Overview
Classroom:- There are five lecture sessions, each one related to a chapter in the Open Water manual and video (also available on CD-ROM)
Swimming Pool:- This is where we teach all the basic diving skills necessary to progress to Open Water. this requires a minimum of five hours in the water split into at least five sessions.
Swimming Test:- 200 yard swim (any stoke) and a 10 minute tread water.
Open Water Dives:- There are a minimum of four open water dives which include training drills to make a safe and competent diver. These can be done in this country (usually North Wales) or on holiday abroad either with us or independently.
Qualification gained:- On satisfactory completion of the full course a PADI Open Water Diver Certificate is gained.
Referral Course:- This is where the classroom and pool sessions are completed with us and the Open Water dives are conducted by a different PADI Centre and Instructor, usually on holiday abroad.
Equipment:- The use of all necessary equipment is included in the cost of the course, but it is recommended that everyone has their own mask.
Evening Classes
Run over 6 or more Monday evenings from 6:30 to 10:00 pm. We usually include a couple of extra pool practice sessions on Wednesday evenings by mutual agreement.
This completes everything required for a referral course.
For those completing the Open Water course with us the 4 open water dives are arranged on mutually convenient weekends.
Week Course
Run from Monday to Saturday. Monday - Thursday in Chester to complete all classroom theory and swimming pool practice. 9:00 to 17:00 approximately. Friday and Saturday away in North Wales to complete the Open Water dives.
Special Courses (Full course or referral)
For any one wanting a course individually tailored to suit their own time schedules or who want individual attention. More of the academic portion can be studied at home with review sessions arranged in our classroom. The swimming pool sessions are arranged at mutually convenient times. Open Water dives in this country or abroad. Please contact us for tailored prices and further information.
Red Sea Diving Course
Classroom theory and swimming pool practice can be conducted in this country either on one of our set courses or by special arrangement.
Red Sea diving holidays include a 5 or 6 day dive pack, the first two days to complete the Open Water qualifying dives with the remaining time for pleasure dives or to continue with the Advanced Open Water course.
The cost of the Red Sea holiday needs to be added to the course cost.
Course Costs:-
We are not necessarily the cheapest; but we believe in thorough training. Cutting costs usually means cutting corners on the training and safety; and it is you the student , whose safety will be affected.
Full Course:- £350 includes manual, tables, log book & PADI fee.
Referral Course:- £225 includes manual, table and log book.
